THE STABLE BLOCK / EDUCATION CENTRE

The stable block/education centre is not to be confused with the visitor centre! The stable block is toward the Hoffman, some distance from the canal, and was used for ponies / horses / donkeys who moved the trucks on the tramways. The visitor centre is at the side of the canal and was originally a stable for the Sun Inn [demolished in the 1950’s]
first meetin in stables (Small)

The first meeting was held in the refurbished stable block in December 2007.
The building is well equipped with furniture, tea and coffee making facilities, IT projection equipment and modern toilets. Heating is provided by a log burning stove.

The stable block is available for booking for meetings or as a base for visiting the heritage area.
