HOFFMAN DIG OF SEPTEMBER 2006
The dig took place over four days in glorious weather. Led by two professional archaeologists, volunteers carried out excavation work. A good insight was revealed into the layout of the tramway, damper / draw-plate controls and the location of stanchions [bases to hold the uprights which supported the roof] The photos below give a flavour of the dig.
