This enlargement of a detail of the Fox-Davies photo of Llanymynech canal basin shows a wealth of history. The viewer can draw many conclusions. The notice to the left of the bridge states ‘Plascerrig bricks for sale’. The site of the brick works is by the canal near to the Rhiew Revel bridge. Presumably the building ‘across the road’ is the old Sun Inn
Photographic technology has moved a long way since the days of glass negatives [such as daguerreotypes] but the quality of the original photos has more than stood the test of time. The Fox-Davies photos are an amazing record of Llanymynech as it was over 100 years ago.
